Hi all,
I'm trying out cacti on my new Windows Home Server 2011. I used to run Cacti in the past, on Ubuntu and Windows XP, but never installed it on a Home Server.
I installed cacti through the Windows Installer (v1.95), and used c:\inetpub\wwwroot as base for the site. I suspect that this is not right... Also, I am stuck in the post-install instructions, I can't seem to find out how to apply the step at checking the IIS configuration, the specified Properties can't be found...
So basically, I have 2 questions:
- did I specify the right directory? (or should I use program files\windows server\bin\webapps\site instead?)
- how can I apply the step with adding php + dll to the properties of the default web site?
Thanks in advance for your answers!

Sometimes asking a question already brings up an answer in your own head...
This might be the solution to the second question!

Re: Installing in WHS2011
Cacti 0.8.7.x doesn't work in a path containing spaces, which is why the installer defaults to c:\inetpub\wwwroot.
For the post-install instructions, they're actually more of a legacy thing in case the PHP msi installer fails to properly configure itself in IIS. However, you'll still need to make sure the scheduled task was properly created and uses the right credentials.
Is your cacti installation not working?

Re: Installing in WHS2011
now it is
the install dir is in fact the right one, so I'm happy. Installation on WHS is slightly different from what I was used to, maybe the post-install-info can be updated once.

the steps that need to be taken in IIS 7.5 to get PHP working right.

Yea I could... or I'll instead just link to a better existing guide already out there - http://learn.iis.net/page.aspx/773/how- ... m-for-php/
