Re: Templates for Infoblox NIOS
I have noticed some strange peaks in the graphs. For example a one time peak of 4 000 000 DHCP messages per minute. I have seen the same issue in the Dynamic DNS Update graph.
Probably some bug in the SNMP implementation on the NIOS but please let me know if you see the same issue and I will look in to it and open a case with Infoblox.

Re: Templates for Infoblox NIOS
I have downloaded the templates. When I tried to imported into Cacti 8.7g, I receive the following error message "Error: XML: Hash version does not exist." I think it the error were cause by version not compatible with the template. Cacti 8.7e version is "0019", 8.7g version is "0020", and Cacti version 8.7g is "0021". When I modified the templates and replace "0019" with "0021". When I re-import into 8.7g, I did not receive any error but the templates did not show up in Cacti. Anyone have this issue whrn they importing these templates? Thank you in advance.

Maybe this thread will help you.tvirath wrote:I have downloaded the templates. Re: Templates for Infoblox NIOS
That's odd.tvirath wrote:When I tried to imported into Cacti 8.7g, I receive the following error message "Error: XML: Hash version does not exist."
When I imported to Cacti 0.8.7g (installed freshly, without patch), it succeeded...
Correct, but template is "upper-compatible".tvirath wrote:I think it the error were cause by version not compatible with the template. Cacti 8.7e version is "0019", <snip> and Cacti version 8.7g is "0021".
http://docs.cacti.net/manual_old:087:advanced_topics:templates#import_templates
"When importing templates, Cacti will perform a version check. All XML templates hold the version of the Cacti system that generated this XML set. Cacti will import only, if your current Cacti version equals or is higher than the exporting one."
Anyway,
Because this host template specifies some templates which is not included in default Cacti. (such as "Linux NET-SNMP - xxxx")tvirath wrote:When I modified the templates and replace "0019" with "0021". When I re-import into 8.7g, I did not receive any error but the templates did not show up in Cacti.
And, "SNMP - Interface Statistics" in this host template seems to be customized.
(e.g. XML path is fixed with "/usr/share/cacti/resource/snmp_queries/interface.xml")
But I think this template is great worth using.
Try importing graph templates (excluded host template) one by one.
Or... try this host template instead. This involve graph templates which related Infoblox only.
Re: Templates for Infoblox NIOS
Oops! Sorry I thought the snmp-stuff was default in Cacti. If any one is interested I can do a new export and try to include the snmp-templates.noname wrote: Or... try this host template instead. This involve graph templates which related Infoblox only.
Re: Templates for Infoblox NIOS
I haven't had time to open a case with Infoblox but on the other side the problem seems to appear less frequently right now. The only difference is that we have 10 times more traffic (DHCP and DNS) to the Infoblox environment.rinsan wrote:I have noticed some strange peaks in the graphs. Re: Templates for Infoblox NIOS
I am running Cacti 8.7g running on Redhat Enterprise 5.6 64-bit. I have downloaded version 1.0a and when I tried to import this template, I am kept getting an error message "Error: XML: Hash version does not exist." Anyone has any success importing?
Thanks,

Try importing the below code by 2 ways -- (1) copy & paste (2) upload as a file.termite wrote:I am running Cacti 8.7g running on Redhat Enterprise 5.6 64-bit. Re: Templates for Infoblox NIOS
If you can post complete, that would be appreciated. For some reason, the data queries were also not created for me. I am running version 0.8.7g of Cacti and Infoblox version 5.1r4-2.rinsan wrote:Oops! Sorry I thought the snmp-stuff was default in Cacti. Re: Templates for Infoblox NIOS
Sorry to bump the thread guys but I just found this after looking around a bit and was hoping there would be a solid conclusion. Jerlev, rinsan, and noname, were you ever to able get a more complete output here? I would like to create a chart to compare these numbers to Facebook Application Analytics and could use your advice down the road. Thanks so much.jerlev wrote:If you can post complete, that would be appreciated. For some reason, the data queries were also not created for me. Re: Templates for Infoblox NIOS
Hi all,
Sorry for the long over due update. I have corrected the problem with spikes in the graphs (changed data counter type from counter to derivate) and excluded the snmp-related stuff in this export.
The export is created with Cacti 0.8.7e verified working with NIOS 6.3.7.

Re: Templates for Infoblox NIOS
This update is working very well for me. Thank you sharing your work.
Have you looked into the network utilization part of the MIB. I'd like to start using cacti and Thold to alert on subnets that are getting full. I didn't want to re-invent the wheel if you had already started down that road.
