Installing Cacti on an Oracle DB server

Post by yairz »

Hi all,

I need to install Cacti to collect performance data on a server running Oracle 9.
Since I don't have another server in this environment, I thought about installing Cacti directly on that server.

I'm not a DBA and I have little knowledge in MySQL or Oracle.

Are there any restrictions, known issues, etc. which I should be aware of?
Will MySQL of Cacti hinder Oracle's performance, functionality, etc.?

Any information will be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Yair

It is not known, that MySQL and Oracle won't be fine when running on the same server. It's all out CPU and memory available to that server ...
