Re: Windows Installer [v1.95 - 2010-09-23]
Will there be a new version of this installer coming out with the new versions included?
And does it or is there a chance to make it do upgrades as well?
It takes me a bit to get back into how all of this stuff works each time I need to do something but I'll probably try the install manually myself anyway. I have a fresh shapshot of the server so it can't be too bad. Just thinking it would be easier for a full package.

Yes, suppose I should think about releasing a new version of the installer. Will try this week if I find time.
No, I don't want the installer to do upgrades, because honestly its too complicated. The installer has no way of easily detecting if the user has changed around any of the assumed Cacti defaults (paths, scripts, file/folder locations, security settings, etc). Without knowing these details, the installer could easily break a users installation.
Updating cacti really isn't all that hard, there are only a few steps - http://docs.cacti.net/manual:087:1_inst ... ding_cacti . Ideally, cacti 0.8.8 or a new plugin would help to facilitate the backup/restore process in a single click.

Re: Windows Installer [v1.95 - 2010-09-23]
Ahhh gotcha. I tried to upgrade and got Cacti going just fine but got a little confused when the PIA didn't work. I reverted back to my old snapshot and put it off for now. The instructions aren't my favorite. I was thinking an upgrade option would be more in line because of all the file changes but then I do see your point.

Hi BSOD2600,
have you had some time to generate new installer? That would be perfect!

Re: Windows Installer [v1.95 - 2010-09-23]
It's been worked on. However, the php 5.2.17 installer is broken as it doesn't properly configure Apache 2.2.x. So I need to come up with a fix before it can be released.

Great stuff with the windows installer! Thanks for all the hard work. I tried setting this up in linux a few times with no success. I don't spend enough time in linux to get it down... =/
Re: Windows Installer [v1.95 - 2010-09-23]
The next installer will be delayed for ~2 weeks. See this post.

I downloaded your installer from this link.
Download Location 1 (140 MB) MD5: 32fb3b954422dd80ad5ad5f23b873ee5
And when I ran FastSum I got this.
D41D8CD98F00B204E9800998ECF8427E *Cacti-0.8.7g_1.95.exe
Is there a problem with the file?
Down loaded again with IE and all is well.

Re: Windows Installer [v1.95 - 2010-09-23]
sounds like the first download attempt was corrupted. The installer package should've detected it if you tried to run it.
I'm currently working on the installer package for 0.8.7i.
