solaris speed up rrdtool 1.4.4 graph generation.

Post by mariog »

Hello
I have a cacti 0.8.7g
the rrdtool graph generation is slow.
a few seconds to have the graph displayed. i have already executed fc-cache -s -v or fc-cache -f -v
also i have donwload a DejaVu sans mono and put it on the ./fonts dir and rerun fc-cache. but it doesn't change anything.

i have put on the font name under settings but i don't know what the pango sintax, i have put "Dejavu sans mono"

maybe i should try with rrdtool 1.2.29.. I had tried with 1.2.19 but i got rddtool crash errors on cacti.log..

what would be the best way to speed up graphic generation?

thank you in advance.

Only on this point:

If you have that font,

Code: Select all

% fc-list | grep -i dejavu
DejaVu Sans Mono:style=Roman
try to specify as "DejaVuSansMono" without blank.
(And Solaris has many TrueType fonts under /usr/openwin/lib.)

I've never considered about fc-cache, but I don't feel my Cacti so slow...
(I'm using mainly RRDtool 1.3.x on Solaris 10.)
