Is there a way to graph local interface traffic of a system without using SNMP? (i.e. using ifconfig output) Id' really appreciate it. The data I've collected so far is just incremental, and just bytes. (i.e. RX bytes/TX bytes)
Any ideas on that would be helpful, I'm trying to write a script to give me what I need.
My OS is Linux.

Althought probably more complex than you are looking for, both of these projects offer this functionality:
http://panic.eu.org/linux/cban/
http://ifmonitor.preteritoimperfeito.com/
The first one looks like it comes with a command line tool to do just what you are looking for. On the other hand, it would probably be much easier to just write a perl script to parse the output of ifconfig.
