Data Source Permissions

Post by samcpeak »

I’ve recently done a default install of CactiEZ on a Linux VM. The only problem I have is that the data sources are created with root:root instead of root:apache and the permissions are not 775. I can manually change the permissions of the RRD files, but I have guest users who need this to be automated.

I'm not familiar with Linux so this is probably a silly question, but does anyone know of a way to make it so that the data sources are automatically created with the correct permissions?

Btw I am running version 0.8.7c.

Thanks!

You should upgrade cacti (even if that is not related to your problem).
Then, you should run the poller from crontab using the correct "cactiuser", not root. See e.g. installation instrauctions at 1st link of my sig
