PHP5 / SNMP5 cacti compatibility problem

Post by joshua850 »

I am running Cacti 0.8.6b on RedHat Linux Fedora Core 1. The system was working with no problems until I upgraded to PHP 5.0.2 (along with SNMP 5.1.2). I started seeing this in my Cacti Log:
11/30/2004 12:42:49 PM - POLLER: Poller[0] CACTI2RRD: /usr/bin/rrdtool update /var/www/html/cacti/rra/osullivan_creel_foundry_traffic_in_115.rrd --template traffic_out:traffic_in 1101840168:U:U
OK u:0.00 s:0.00 r:1.01
Waiting on 1/1 pollers.
Waiting on 1/1 pollers.
[..] (This will go on indefinately).

If I downgrade to php 4.3.8 and SNMP 5.0x, the problem goes away. Does Cacti not support PHP5?

There are issues in PHP5 that have yet to be ironed out. I would suggest you stay with 4.x.x version of PHP, but avoid the 4.3.x, there are more bugs there.

Rony,

I was suggesting using 4.3.6+. I have had no problems with that and 4.3.8. I have not tested with 4.3.9. I am too having problems with 5.0.2 in Windows and some PHP abends. Only with Cactid though.

For those wondering, I'm still here, but lost in the shadows. Yearning for less bugs. Who want's a Cacti 1.3/2.0? Streams anyone?
