Moving Spline from 1 minute to 5 minutes

I built this cacti box without the expectation that I would soon be polling 200+ hosts. The box is now under quite a bit of IO and I want to move it to 5 minutes.

Updating /etc/crond.d/cacti to 5 minutes as well as the spline and cron pollers within the GUI to 5 minutes followed by a rebuild of the cache doesn't seem to be enough. My interface graphs are all blank unless I move back to 1 minute.

Anybody have advice on how to go back to 5 minutes?

Changing poller interval will raise the need to completely drop all rrd files and to recreate them from scratch.
RRD files to not bring the option to change that setting!

Thanks Gandalf, I setup boost and all my problems went away. I'm currently trying to figure out how to apply it to the current housing problem it's that good.
