RRDTool not creating graphs

Post by trilliumtech »

I just created a new box to run Cacti. Using Fedora 14 64bit. This is a test box, for developmental purposes. I am making custom graphs so that I can see 1 minute intervals. Clean install, only localhost and my firewall. Localhost graphs are created properly and updating. New graphs are not being created. Put it in debug and see the output RRDtool does, enter it in the command line, creates the file, but still doesn't update.
See no errors other then before I manually created the file. What am I missing or configured wrong? Version of Cacti is 0.8.7g

1 minute polling currently is a beast. So please see the lengthy thread in the HowTo Section regarding this topic. You will have to adjust RRA settings and perhaps throw away all old rrd files that you want to run on 1 minute polling.

This is a new install, only graphs I have are for the localhost. New device isn't being created. I am currently doing a TCPDump and have noticed that no SNMP requests are going out. When I first created the device the SNMP requests and reply were received, but since then nothing. SNMPwalk also works. Is there something in the poller.php I should be looking for?

Are you running the poller.php from crontab, then?

I have the cron job running every five, but have the program to poll every minute. Looking at the logs it is polling every minute like it is suppose to. What is the purpose of the cron job?
