Just like how PHP is intregrated with rrdtool.
I mean to say similier PHP we used as interface to generate graphs/calling rrdtool, snmp calls.

Don't know, although it's just a repeat of technology if you ask me.

No, I don't think it exists, because they are repeats of the same technology.

What are you trying to accomplish?

I think he doesn't want to install the whole MySQL/Perl/PHP/Cacti thing, implying he already has a full blown IIS/.NET Framework/SQL implementation somewhere on his network and wants to utilize it.

No, to my knowledge no one has done it...and Cacti works fine so us Win32 people deal with it. I've had no problems running the MySQL/Perl/PHP/Cacti setup on our backup/monitor Win2003 computer.

Sorry didn't read it that way, been a rough day as it is already.

Cacti only supports mySQL and php at this time. There is plans to support other databases in future releases. But until then, you need to stick with PHP/RRDtool/mySQL.

Thanks to all,

Now its the time to talk little about me.
I am basically a VB Programmer and new to .NET
I have been asked to develop tool to moniter network, My boss gave me links to few sites to download the software, like watsup gold, prtg, mrtg etc

Because I have very less time to show a basic output of my reaserch, that includes to show minitering cisco firewall, qmail server, (on linux), active directory services, IIS,sql server, sharepoint portal (on windows).

I started with the 0% knowlege about all the technology(network).
(Still few of terms i see here are greek & latin for me, dont know the difference between trap and poll)
First I gone through few snmp docs to understand the protocol, then started using mrtg, then found cacti.

I am testing prtg, and used watsup gold too for while and now the cacti.

I have more 4 days remaining, I need to show the graphs of adsi, iis,sql server, pix firewall, qmail(pix and qmail is going on) and also basic email alerting system.
Interface should be browser based. Tool should be open soure or Should be completly written by our own.

I dont know how to proceed further, For some while I thought cacti would help me doing all this stuff. Then I will get time to do more research on core things. (right now every thing is new to me, php, mysql, apache, perl)

:x
