Improved Ucd/net cpu usage template (with iowait)
I was not 100% satisfied with the stock cpu usage, mostly because it lacked IO wait portion. Attached is my improved template, it imports cleanly into 0.8.7g (but I know it does not into most earlier versions).
Sample graph:
Download template here: http://www.globaltap.com/cacti_graph_te ... iowait.xml
Sorry that above is not a hot link, but my url bbcode is off for some reason, and I cannot seem to turn it on.

Thanks for posting.
Would you please mind to publish that at http://docs.cacti.net/templates?
You may want to create a userid at http://bugs.cacti.net first, we use those ids on the docs site as well.
R.

Where would you like me to post it there? Contributed Graph Templates?
BTW, this uses only ucd/snmp values already available from any ucd/snmp host (or should be available).

Hi Gandalf,
maybe I'm wrong, but I think your template is not correct.
In your template you take the raw CPU-time-counters and simply printing them on a graph (without actually calculating the percentage value via a CDEF). For whatever reason it sums up to a value of about 100 - but why ??
maybe someone can give me a hint
ciao, flo

It really seem to display the correct values (compared it with the default statistics), but why ?????
Re: Improved Ucd/net cpu usage template (with iowait)
after some research I discovered the following:
the raw snmp value is the CPU time spent in milliseconds for the corresponding workload (idle,wait,user,system,...)
because cacti is breaking down the 5 minute-counter-values into per-second-values AND the values are in milliseconds it displays the correct value.
now I'll use the template - thanks for your work - nice template !

Thanks a lot for these scripts and templates! Having a little trouble with the perl script though, trying to set the port to 8080. It doesn't seem to recognize the change.http://www.freerun-tn-au.com/
