I have a VM server with several hosts. One of them being my production Cacti server I have been working on for a couple months. The host is so corrupted, that I have to start a new server. Is there a way to take my old data and put it on a new server? My cacti install was all put on the D: drive.
I created a new host identical to the one before. Then I installed Cacti. Then copied that data from the old D: drive to the new D: drive. I was hoping Cacti would pick this up automatically but it didn't. So I then tried to move the MySQL folder over from the C: drive. Not sure what else I can do.
Is it even possible to import that data into a new Cacti install?
Where are the files stored in Windows?

Re: Where are the files stored in Windows?
Ok I figures part of it out. I needed to import the SQL file and not copy it.
These two links helped a ton.

Looks like everything is back on the new server. One thing not showing is my Device Tree on the Graphs tab. All the tree items are there from the console page. If anyone has any ideas that would be great.

Re: Where are the files stored in Windows?
The configuration of hosts, templates, etc are all stored in the Cacti MySQL database. Collected data which is graphed is stored in the *.rrd files (.\cacti\rrd\). don't forget to also backup any custom scripts which you've installed.
| Scripts: Monitor processes | RFC1213 MIB | DOCSIS Stats | Dell PowerEdge | Speedfan | APC UPS | DOCSIS CMTS | 3ware | Motorola Canopy |
| Guides: Windows Install | [HOWTO] Debug Windows NTFS permission problems |
| Tools: Windows All-in-one Installer |

Re: Where are the files stored in Windows?
Thanks for the reply. I got the whole thing going. Only issue I see so far is what I posted about the graph tree. But I noticed it is only on the server. A browser from my PC works fine so that is good enough for me. Better than losing the entire system.
The new VM has been up and stable for a couple hours now. Only thing custom I had was a change to my RRD's to graph Last values. Fixed that and so far it all looks good.
