Authentication related question

Post by bulek »

Hi,

I left several answers on this board, now it's time to ask some questions :-)

I have two instances of Cacti placed on one server. Both are placed on different paths and they use two different databases - in other words they do not co-operate with each other. On both instances there is "admin" user defined however with different passwords.

Now, I login to first instance as an admin and enter correct password - everything goes fine. Then I change the URL to second instance of Cacti. In this case however I am not asked for login - a browser takes me immediatelly to "Console" part of second instance with admin rights.

Can I avoid this situation somehow?

Regards,

Hi,
Are you using the same browser window, or a new browser window? If you are using the same window, it sounds like the browser is just re-using the session ID and cacti thinks that you are already authenticated(another way of thinking of it is that you are hijacking your own session).
