SNMP Error, but SNMP is working ?!

Post by Scriptman »

Hello,

I've downloaded cacti for my network administration.
But i cant get SNMP to work.

As i fill in my SNMP details for localhost at "Devices", cacti says SNMP is working.
But snmpget fails.
02/12/2011 07:25:03 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] Host[1] DS[10] WARNING: Result from SNMP not valid. Partial Result: U
02/12/2011 07:25:03 PM - CMDPHP: Poller[0] WARNING: SNMP Get Timeout for Host:'127.0.0.1', and OID:''

Also, if i fill in my SNMP of my switch, cacti says: SNMP Error, at "Devices".

But is i run this code in putty everything works:
svr:/usr/share/cacti/site/cli# snmpget -c SomeName -v 2c IPofSwitch .1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.1.16
IF-MIB::ifIndex.16 = INTEGER: 16

I've been busy for almost 14hours now, and i don't get it anymore!

The error is related to localhost (the device cacti is running on) but your test was made against some switch.
