[solved] Poller.php take more than 5 mn with only 1 switch

Hi,

i use to install cacti on Red hat without any probleme in the past...
Today, i have to do the same, but on W2003... So i use http://wiki.monitoring-fr.org/integrati ... ws-install to do it.
So many probleme of version and compability make me crazy and so, i finaly install cacti witch this configuration:
- Wamp5_1.7
- Php 5.2.1
- Apache 2.2.4
- Mysql 5.0.27
- rrdtool-1.2.15-cygwin-1.5.20
- cacti-cactid-0.8.6k
- cacti-0.8.7b (newer version make an php socket error...why???)

So, all seem to be ok, but when i've started my test on a single switch, it became different....
The probleme is about the commande "php.exe c:\cacti\poller.php".
Fo a simple stack of 5 switch with 50 port, the result take about 2 or 3 minutes....
So if i register all my switchs and server, cacti will go down... (if poller take more than 300 seconds, it can't make his graphs...)


I don't understand why !!!

A fresh installation of cacti-0.8.7b?? Don't waste your time with that. Install the latest which is 0.8.7g + patches.

The windows installation guide doesn't have people use WAMP or any other multi-installer packages because they all do things differently which can affect how cacti functions. you should read through http://docs.cacti.net/manual:087:1_inst ... er_windows

I found the solution !!!

The probleme was that the menu of wamp let me choose what king of extension i want to use (php_snmp for exemple), so i use it...

Yesterday (19:00), i decdied to verify in the c:\....\php.ini if all is really ok and.... the 2 line (php_snmp and php_socket) was disabled....It was normal that all my poller.php take more than 5 minutes...

If this solution can help someone (perhaps i'm the only boy using wamp ).
