I have set up Cacti Version 0.8.7g and Syslog 1.05.
This is on a Ubnuntu LTS 10.04 server.
I use rsyslog to log external switches and routers.
Used this guide to set it up:

But I have some issues I need help with:
- 1. I want the date and time on syslog entries from external devices to use the time on the Ubnuntu server, not the internal clock on the switch/router etc.
As some of these boxes have incorrect clocks, and can not connect to time server etc.
Any way to make this happen?
- 2. Some devices does not report IP address when transferring the log.
Is there any way to make rsyslog always catch the source IP address?
Hope somebody have some good tips here
