Commercial support

Post by ber1teguh »

Does cacti or any of the developers offer commercial support for maintenance, customization, etc? Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you.

Yes, several members of the team do offer commercial support. This depends on your needs, e.g. programming, teaching, creating templates, on or off-site support.
Then, there are commercial companies providing support; I won't advertise them

First of all, thank you for your reply. Secondly, I'm sorry it took me so long to check back to this thread. Anyway, I'm glad that some of Cacti team member offer commercial support.
Basically (since me and my servers are located in Indonesia) we need off-site support and maybe creating some templates (about 5 - 10 templates maybe less). I'm capable of doing the basic stuff, eg. installation, adding devices, creating graphs, etc.
Could you tell me the arrangement of this commercial support. Is it based on number of servers? Devices being monitored? How about payment? Yearly? Monthly?
Any information will be much appreciated. Thank you.

TBH I would simplyemail the developers directly if you are serious:

http://www.cacti.net/donate.php

I'm sure if you troll around the archives (http://sourceforge.net/p/cacti/mailman/cacti-user/) you can match the devs to their email address.

Then there are also guys like:

http://blog.network-outsourcing.de/prod ... d-support/

Never used him but they googled fast (top link or three) when I was googling around (i.e. I knew a guy wrote a book on Cacti who wasn't one of the developers so figure I would look him up). I'm sure there are more out there.

Could probably just stick a random post on this forum also, I'm sure somebody will take your money [not me] :)

Yes, that guy is me ( the blog.network-outsourcing.de site, the book, the "nmid" plugins and of course taking money for support ).

Though the first suggestion is still the same: Post your concern to the forum first. There are lots of active users here that can help for most issues.

If you really require additional support (e.g. someone to create templates, maintain/improve a plugin, checkout performance issues ....) than what you will get from the forum, then you can go and check out the options mentioned by Eol.

Hey Phalek, you do work on plugins you didn't write also, i.e. some old unmaintained plugin I love but doesn't work with the new PPA or 0.8.8c lets say.
