Using cacti 0.8.7g with all official patches applied on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.5.
I have created a Get Script Data (Indexed) data query, with an associated Data Template and Graph Template. Adding the Data Query to a host and doing a Verbose Query returns the expected data. Going to Create Graphs for this Host shows the graph items to create as expected, and the graphs can be created.
The problem is the poller never calls the script to create the graphs. Doing a poller_reindex_hosts.php for the host, with the cacti.log on debug, only shows:
POLLER: Poller[0] NOTE: There are no items in your poller for this polling cycle!
The script can be run on the command line with expected input/output as the cacti user. The script must also be returning some data to cacti as a defined variable for graph title (|query_dhcppool|) in the data query is making it into the graph titles (this is seen by manually creating the rrd files, and thus empty graphs). Another odd behavior is after creating the graphs under Create Graphs for this Host the items are not grayed out, you can continue to create many graphs for each item.
The script runs on the cacti server and reads in "in1.txt" from the same directory, reporting DHCP pool active/used/free leases. Please find attached the associated files.
As an aside, we tried using dhcpd-snmp (http://www.net-track.ch/opensource/dhcpd-snmp/) to graph DHCP usage but found its output to be inaccurate.

Re: script not being called
Notice the graph template attachment wasn't saved. When trying to attach it I get the error:

Creating a zip archive of the file allowed it to be uploaded.
