Allow switch-port graphs to show/hide based on status

Post by roe1234 »

It would be beneficial to allow a graphs of down interfaces to auto-hide. But it would be just as helpful for recently upped interfaces to auto-show the graph. This feature should be able to be enabled/disabled, using a checkbox in the graph management view.

Were do you want to have that feature? When creating new graphs (host.php) and/or in Graph Management and or in Graph (Tree/Pre)View? When evaluating "down" status, do you consider a port as down when it is down right now or when it has been down during the timespan shown in the graph?

The best place for this feature is probably in a few places, but *I* see value in being able to control this feature on a per-device and per-graph level. I was envisioning the show/hide status of the graph to depend on the current state of the interface, with potentially some flap detection if necessary.

As you already might know: we try to support extended features by means of plugins. This case is not quite straightforward. But please make up your mind how to do it that way. We may help by providing plugin hooks if not yet available
