Any method to "save" the monitoring devices?

Post by eqqchau »

Hi, all

I want to ask is there any method the "save" the setting of all moitoring devices? For example: I have 20 devices which are under cacti moitoring. And now I would like to save it and "import" to another cacti.

Is it possible to do so?

Not the easy way. The tables may be dumped an restored, but the indices of the "old" cacti system won't match those of the "new" one, in general. If you want to create an exact copy of the whole db, that's easy

Hi, so, if i just want to copy all devices configuration from one cacti to anther cacti with same cacti version (i.e. 0.8.7e), I just simply "clone" the database (i.e. cacti) and restore it on the new one??

Am I correct?

Yep. You may even upgrade cacti this way (using a newer version on the clone).
