[solved] device is down but system is ok

Post by grlongo »

Hi all,

I am having the same issue that few folks in this forum had been through as well but none of them had solved my problem so far.

I have a device in my network that shows up as status: "Down" but host is alive. I can ping this device from the cacti server. I can run an snmpwalk on this device from the cacti server.

This is the snmpwalk:

I am using cmd.php / downed device detection method is snmp but I tried also ping

from the device screen at the top I have the folowing

SNMP Information
System:Hardware: EM64T Family 6 Model 23 Stepping 10 AT/AT COMPATIBLE -
Software: Windows Version 5.2 (Build 3790 Multiprocessor Free)
Uptime: 1574979 (0 days, 4 hours, 22 minutes)
Hostname: SERVER
Location: headquarter
Contact: Guilherme Longo

Ping Results
TCP ping timed out

so I believe that snmp seems to be ok but I can't ping the device. Could you please give to me some directions.

Regards

Well,
I could solve my problem on my own again.

It was just a matter of rebuild the log cache and after a second I got the interface status changed to 'recovery' and the next minute to 'up'.

Thanks all!
