no SNMP traffic send by CACTI

Post by Laco »

Hi ALL.

I spend 48 hours installing CACTI. I know, i am LAME and new to this. But i love to learn. Well, read a lot of posts here, but somehow just cannot sort out this stupid error which you are even not replying to.

RRDTool Says:

ERROR: opening 'C:/PHP/cacti/rra/4/17.rrd': No such file or directory

As i checked, if there is not any data collected by CACTI this error will appear. So i checked via MIB Browser, if i am using correct OID etc..MIB browser respond with valid value. I just cannot see (wireshark) any request from CACTI. I checked my PATHs and they are all green (file found).

If anyone has got spare 5 mins to point me just to right direction, thank you for that. :(

i know...I read it and checked what i was able to..and i fully understand that it is more funny to talk to real experts or resolve issues which looks like bug....i see now SNMP but without any sense to me.

in wireshark i see that cacti is requesting for different OID then configured.

as seen in attached file..

But i do not mind if you delete my question or do not respond. As i said, i fully understand that this program is for a bit skilled technicians.

Which parts of http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=11747 were confusing?
Where did you find out your problems with Cacti to be after reading it?

You have to set path of RRA folder with .rrd file in data source.
from left pane select data source, from the list select the name of datasource associated with graph and set the path to RRD file which is given in error. wait for polling and your graph will be generated.
