Baseline only?

I apologize, but I'm a complete newbie on the thold plugin.

Let me give a specific example... Bandwidth. Some links may be as low as 1.544Mbps. Some may be 10Gbps. I could setup a threshold template for each type of connection, but considering I have tens of thousands of interfaces, that would probably be unreasonable.

What I'd really like is to use only baseline thresholds anyway.

So... Would it be reasonable to set the hard high threshold to something crazy like 100G and the low to 0 and enable baseline monitoring? Would this give me what I want?

After doing even deeper searching I see that baselining is a bit of a question mark on these forums, therefore I don't expect a reply.

I installed Cacti in my lab to do some testing on this and it turns out that yes, this does seem to work. So far. I'm going to do a bit more testing.

Once I get baselining working I'll post a HOWTO.

Is there any good documentation on how to setup baseline thold monitoring?
I just can't seem to locate any docs/posts that walks through the process.
