Question on Spin and PIA

Post by ghis »

I would install the version of 0.8.7.g Cati and architecture Plugin 2.8 ..

But in the site CatiUsers.org, there are only PIA 2.8 for linux or unix: cacti-plugin-0.8.7g-PA-v2.8.tar.gz.

Where can I find PIA 2.8 for Windows: cacti-plugin-0.8.7g-PA-v2.8.zip?

I have another question about Spine 0.8.7.g:

What the multi threaded host polling?

Thank you!

The package for PIA is the same for both OSes. Simply extract it and follow the documentation.

Multi = more than one
thread = a thread of execution is the smallest unit of processing that can be scheduled by an operating system.

Host = A logical device within Cacti.
Polling = The act of querying a host for data (via snmp, scripts, etc).
