So i tried to patch Cacti and I got errors.
Firstly i had allready tried to install the Cacti patches, and i know that some of the files did not have been installed. But coudn't remember the errormessage.
So I tried to install the PIA Beta without problems. No changes.
So i freshly isntalled cacti made a copy of the directory without any changes, and started testing.
I tried the Patches coudn't apply them. I tried the PIA and then the patches no chance. Tried to install the PIA Beta and than patches no chance.
Tried the dry-run just 4fun, unsurprising no difference.
The Errors were similar to this one:
Hunk #2 FAILED at 143.
1 out of 8 hunks FAILED -- saving rejects to file lib/html.php.rej
unfortunately I have no pictures.
What happened when I tried to patch it after the installation of PIA Beta, pls refer to the picture.
I googled about this error but coudn't find any solutions.

Once the PIA is applied, it's hard to patch files that have had the PIA applied to them. It's easier to patch, have those hunks fail, and then apply the PIA over the top.

The users problem was that he attempted to update Cacti 0.8.7e with PIA 2.9 which is not supported.
