SPINE: "Invalid SNMP Session" appears seemingly out of nowhe

Post by evilzardoz »

Hi,

Starting from midday yesterday, one of our SNMP devices no longer graphs and shows up as "down" in the device list. The cacti log file shows this:
09/29/2010 11:45:04 AM - SPINE: Poller[0] DEBUG: The Value of Active Threads is 1
09/29/2010 11:45:04 AM - SPINE: Poller[0] DEBUG: In Poller, About to Start Polling of Host
09/29/2010 11:45:04 AM - SPINE: Poller[0] ERROR: Problem initializing SNMP session 'south1-gw'
09/29/2010 11:45:04 AM - SPINE: Poller[0] Host[64] SNMP Result: Invalid SNMP Session
09/29/2010 11:45:04 AM - SPINE: Poller[0] Host[64] NOTE: There are '12' Polling Items for this Host09/29/2010 11:45:04 AM - SPINE: Poller[0] Host[64] DEBUG: HOST COMPLETE: About to Exit Host Polling Thread Func
tion

Host 64 is south1-gw.

I can snmpwalk the device from the box still, plus I can SNMP query the device via the cacti web UI, which shows a current value for device uptime when I go to the device page.

Given I can poll everything else, I'm confused as to what's happening here as SNMP *appears* to be working but perhaps I'm missing something.

We're running:
SPINE 0.8.7e Copyright 2002-2009 by The Cacti Group

Thanks!

Upgrade to the g version w/patch, but make sure you read the spine.conf.dist and the README before deploying.
