NewColourFromPercent Error
Hi,
After upgrading my weathermap from 0.941 to 0.96a I am seeing the below error in my logs on occasion...
07/07/2009 09:25:10 AM - WEATHERMAP: Poller[0] WARNING: [Map 24] Foundry Network: NewColourFromPercent: Scale DEFAULT doesn't include 0.0099416954208% while drawing item ps-1.CHC2-ps-3.CHC2 [WMWARN29]
Any ideas?
Mike

The scale called DEFAULT doesn't have a line that covers percntages from 0 to 1. What should this message have said, that would explain this better? That's a serious question... several people have asked
about this one, and I thought it was obvious, but I guess not.

Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)

Hi Howie,
In our 0.941 config files we didn't have a 0 1 - we had a 0.01 10 0 255 0
This meant that any link that had a small amount of traffic was green, and any link with no traffic was automatically white.
I would guess something has been update between 0.941 & 0.96a so I have now amended our configs and everything is ok
The log message does make sense, its just it seemed by default in 0.941 the link would have been white (or no fill).
Thanks
Mike

Yep - I did add that warning in 0.96. I also added a SET variable to disable it I have just tweaked the message slightly for 0.97, too.Syngress wrote:Hi Howie,

Re: info for disable the log
It's not *that* fastidious. You have a scale which doesn't cover the data that you have. So make it cover it!zorrosam wrote:please how we can disable this fastidious log?

Usually, it's:
Code: Select all
SCALE DEFAULT 0 1 255 255 255
OR, you can disable the warning instead with:
Code: Select all
SET nowarn_scalemisses 1

No... yours should work too. Could you paste your scale lines and the warning please?jwhitaker wrote:Must the scale entry be 0-1 to cover a percent of 0.x? I have an entry of 0-20 for the bottom of the scale, yet still see the warning for data between 0 and 1.

Oops I think this was user error. I had copied an example scale that started with 1-10 and eventually changed it to 0, but during that period the log was showing a clip of 0.xxx to 1. I now have a scale entry of 0-10 and it seems to be working just fine, including clipping negative percentages from an aggregate to 0. Thanks!
