poller terminates after one loop

Post by slider182 »

Hello Cacti Experts,

I started using the current public 0.8.7g this week and tried to follow the suggestions for reaching a poller interval of 1min using a cron interval of 5min on a completely virgin CentOS 5.5 X86 box. (vm on vsphere)
The actual problem now is, that I have NaNs in all graphs.
In the Cacti Log I see correct values gathered from the snmp queries.
rrdtool info shows NaNs in the RRD Files.
I think the problem might be, that if I start the poller.php manually it performs only one loop and then terminates with php error messages after about 60secs waiting - shortly before the next loop should begin.

Error as follows:
Loop Time is: 1.2166841030121
Sleep Time is: 58.780241966248
Total Time is: 1.2197580337524
PHP Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in /var/www/html/cacti-0.8.7g/lib/database.php on line 226
PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function close() on a non-object in /var/www/html/cacti-0.8.7g/li b/database.php on line 231

I followed the debugging guide here but couldn`t solve it.
Perhaps someone here could give me hint..

2vCPU
2 GB
CentOS 5.5 X86
Cacti 0.8.7g with public patches from the homepage
rrdtool 1.2.30
php, net-snmp, mysql, apache from public centos repo installed via yum

Thanks for all suggestions and hints.

Thanks in advance.
Greetings from Austria.

Solved

I was able to solve my problem by using the latest poller.php out of the SYN repository.
The cause was an error in poller.php.
