two problems with cactid

Post by magnum »

Hi folks,

today i've installed cacti 0.8.6b and cactid.exe

it seems to work, but i have two 'problems'

the cactid.exe says:

Code: Select all

WARNING: Unrecongized directive: LogFile=c:\web\apache\htdocs\cacti\log\cacti.log in cactid.conf
CACTID: Windows Environment, root permissions not required for ICMP Ping
I've tried to change the path to the cacti.log in cacti.conf, but the error message is the same. How can i get it work ?
What about the 'root permissions' for ICMP Ping ?

Another problem is a message of SNMP:

Code: Select all

Cannot find module (IP-MIB): At line 0 in (none)
Cannot find module (IF-MIB): At line 0 in (none)
Cannot find module (TCP-MIB): At line 0 in (none)

Cannot find module (SNMP-USER-BASED-SM-MIB): At line 0 in (none)
Cannot find module (SNMP-NOTIFICATION-MIB): At line 0 in (none)
Cannot find module (SNMPv2-TM): At line 0 in (none)
Any ideas ?

You need two environment variables. Please read the installation insructions for additional details.

Well, since posting about 2 environment variables, I have discovered it is best to only use 1. The environment variable is MIBSDIR. You set it equal to MIBSDIR=c:\php\mibs or where ever your MIBS are. The is also a variable called MIBS. I had recommending that you set it to "ALL", but this hoses CACTID. Therefore, don't use it.

Oh, and the manual is online. http://www.cacti.net

In addition, the logfile directive is no longer required. It should be removed from the cactid.conf file if it is present.
