Hello all,

I am very new to cacti. I keep getting this msg when trying to access cacti:

Warning: mysql_connect(): Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10061) in C:\Apache2\htdocs\cacti\lib\adodb\drivers\adodb-mysql.inc.php on line 207

Cannot connect to MySQL server on 'localhost'. Please make sure you have specified a valid MySQL database name in 'include/config.php'.

I have a database name 'cacti' in config.php

I have searched this forum, found a really good win32 setup help and others that I have followed--still getting this msg. I know the problem is something stupid that I have overlooked--but I can't find it.

I have winxp, apache 2.0.49, mysql 4.0.21, php 4.3.4, cacti 0.8.4, and rrdtool 1.0.40.

ANY help would be appreciated.

Sorry to waste space--as usual, as soon as a post a problem, I figure it out.

I had not setup the cactiuser correctly.

Problem fixed.
