Plugins on ubuntu

Post by mdipofi »

Ok...I am totally confuse...Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
cacti version 0.8.7e.
I have tried installing the cacti-plugin-0.8.7g-PA-v2.8.tar.gz and also tried
cacti-plugin=-0.8.7b.pa-v2.1.diff as well.

Login into cacti and do not see plugin under configurations..when logged in.

Any suggestions?

Thank you

Have you enabled 'Plugin Management' checkbox in 'User Management -> (user) -> Realm permissions' ?

Hi, I am sorry that I didn't get back to you since I went on a mini vacation...However, I just looked under the User management and didn't see any place for Plugin management to put a check mark there to enable it..

Might have a bigger issue now...

I'm running the exact same system as you. Maybe I can help you out. I finally got my system working last week.

See attached. You should see something like that if you have plugins installed.

When you installed the plugin arch (2.8 is what I'm running), did you see any errors? I did....I had lots of errors so for each error, I just copied the file from the files-0.7g directory and overwrote the file that had errors.

After that I'm assuming you configured /include/config.php with your plugins.

Make sure you have installed the settings plugin.

$plugins = array();
$plugins[] = 'settings';
$plugins[] = 'thold';

etc.

I have finally figured most of it out..before reading your post....And I do thank you for the info.

I see Tholds in the plugin but I can't install it at all. When I check the user manage I do see view thresholds.....checked...But when I look at the PIA 2.8 it tells me that the Thold is not installed...

Does your apache user (nobody, www, etc.) have rights to access 'plugins/thold' directory?
(In detail, 'plugins/thold/setup.php' file)

But I'm afraid that PIA 2.8 or above is designed for Cacti0.8.7g...
