absolute plotting

Hello there,
I trying to plot graphs with absolute values, at least want I want I tend to call "absolute".
I have output like this:
mrtg-bw-ip 212.24.X.X INPUT 128247653
mrtg-bw-ip 212.24.X.X OUTPUT 297668150

The counters are ever-incrementing and are reset every day, respectively every week and month. (There are 3*2 counters)

As it seems I'm only able to plot the traffic delta but not the absolute values.
I've tried it all, MAX, LAST, AVERAGE, ABSOLUTE, GAUGE, etc. to no avail

Any idea!?

Well well,
simply deleting the (corrupted?) rra files seems to have done the trick...
