Restart & recache ?

Post by guerra6880 »

I had to restart my server today it took almost 2 hrs (to recache everything (~180 hosts).

Any help or suggestions on how to prevent/change the method would be appreciated as my boss is just about ready to take my head off.

Thanks!

guerra6880,

I don't understand this, your "server" rebooted and you had to recache everything? Please explain in a little more detail. Recaching is way too slow, but we don't expect these types of issues. So it may be a bug. But in any event, need to know exactly what happened. Did your network group restart all the switches/servers while your server was disconnected from the WAN?
