How to remove plugins in 0.8.7.g and it's pia?

Post by goita666 »

i freshly installed the released version of 087g and it's PIA and added discovery plugin wich worked great from the start... after messing around i deleted discovery folder from plugins and when i wanted to reinstall it it gives me "CMDPHP: Poller[0] WARNING: Install function already exists for plugin directory 'discovery' "
and no discovery appears in plugins management.
I deleted dicovery's tables from cactidb. i grep'ed the cacti install dir how can i have discovery back?...
I assume this is not an issue for discovery only but also for other plugins and other users that will have problems.

Check the 'plugin_config' database table, and delete the row with 'discovery'.

Please replace the file <path_cacti>/plugins.php with the attached file and re-test. Please insure you make a backup copy first.

Ok, see the issue there. It's another bug. Fixing. We'll publish patches soon.

Thanks for the quick work Witness.

By the way, I don't mean to take this thread off topic, but how often are patches released? I assume they are only released when resolving major bugs as opposed to every minor bug too?

Well, as needed. We had a few regressions in the 0.8.7g release. So, we plan on releasing a few this weekend. However, unless it's major regression at this point, we are focusing on a much overdue project at the moment.

Are we allowed to know what this project is, or is it currently under wraps? :)

Thanks - this worked for me as well, upgraded from 0.8.7d to 0.8.7g and then manually deleted my syslog folder from plugins/ only to find I couldn't add it again.

Replaced the plugins.php file and now it appears via the Plugin Management page.
