Aggregate graphs from multiple devices with aggregate plugin

Post by venter »

Hi!

I use aggregate plugin for aggregate similar graphs for one host and almost all fine.

But now I need to make aggregation for a lot of graphs from different host and I cannot filter all needed graphs on one page even using wildcards.

Is there any solution for such issue?

I think I can rename needed graphs before filtering, but maybe someone advices me something better?

That is a bugger now isn't it. Right now, I don't think there is a good workaround. I have played with changing the 'Search' filter behavior, but have not committed anything, and will not for 0.8.7 anyway.

However, time permitting, there may be a new aggregate release. However, DEV's are quite busy at the moment.

Despite my doubt about that, trick with renaming graphs is working.

I just add some unique suffix to the names of all needed graphs and then filter them by that suffix.

Finally delete suffixes from names.

Usually, you will filter by graph template. Aggregate will access graphs based on a single graph template only. If still too many rows to fit one page, increase row count. That all I can do from the dev side just now.
Any ideas how to work around that problem are welcome

I have a vision, but no cycles.

Stop that
I'll first have to publish current version. Still working on the documentation. In fact, that seems to take more time than coding ...

I have a few module devices like catalyst 6500 or 4500 with more then 200 ports. Therefore it's impossible to filter all needed graphs even with template. I think that you can use some ideas from quicktree plugin to make possible selection graphs from different hosts.

Hmm, I don't think so or I may not understand.
Selecting any graph into Quicktree is done one by one. Or do you mean that some kind of "shopping basket" should be built and then acted upon by AGGREGATE?

In this case, I'd like to base it more on graph_list view; e.g. selecting some items, paging forward and extending the selection until finally the "action" is selected. But this will require a quite deep impact on general "list handling" in cacti. This is NOT under control of a plugin. But as we're now switching to a general "list handling" OO method, it may happen. But not before 088 comes out.
