snmp_port and data inputs

Post by ztron »

Guys can someone please-please-please clarify how to use this field?

In the Data Input Method I enter the 'Special Type Code' 'snmp_port'.

Now what do I do in the Data Template? |snmp_port|? |host_snmp_port|?
None of the above seems to work (according to the poller cache and the log file).

Thanks,
z

snmp_port will be replaced by the port of the host that is queried for that data template. I fear that I do not understand your goal, apart from that. You may want to study 1st link of my sig for a whole set of answers related to Templates and stuff

Thank you sir, I read the manual. This is where I learned about the snmp_port variable in the first place. I am asking that someone explains _how to use it_. My goal is simple. I want snmp_port to be replaced by the port of the host that is queried for that data template.

To further clarify, what should be done in the Data Template setup for that Data Input?
