I've installed the Threshold plugin but now I want to 'patch' this plugin which will allow me to use the Nagios integration functionality.
Now, I'm on Solaris and am not as root (I'm logged in as a system user) and am trying to run the following command from the plugins/thold directory in cacti:
patch -p1 -N --dry-run < thold_04_bugfixes_162.patch
However, it doesnt do anything apart from prompt me with :

Must I be root user to do this? Any feedback would be welcomed.
