Same Average, Min, Max value in graph template

Post by ghost974 »

Hi,

I'm using Eric A. Hall template for lm_sensors (http://www.eric-a-hall.com/software/cac ... lmsensors/) to monitore my servers's temperature.

It's working like a charm, but I don't know what I did, I have the same value for every sensors for average, min and max.

The only thing I did compared to the template, is change the text displayed, Average -> Avg, Minimum -> Min, Maximum -> Max.

On the graph template, I check that each Input (Thermal Sensor 1, 2,...) is linked to each associated graph item.

Thx for your help !

You posted a screenshot of the Graph Item Inputs, but your error is going to be in the
Graph Template Items, specifically the Data Source.

All of your Data Sources legend entries items are pointing at the same Data Source, where as your 'Line' entries are pointing at the correct Data Source.

When viewing the related Graph Template, the root cause is found in the Graph Template Items. The GPRINT graph template items are referring to the wrong datasource/consolidation.

Do you see all of those 'No Task' entries. Every one of those needs to point to the correct data source. You are going to have to edit each one, and set the correct data source.

Yes, it's always pointing to the same value but I checked each Graph Item Inputs (Thermal Sensor 1, 2, ...) and they are pointing to the correct Associated Graph Items 1 to 5, 6 to 10, etc

What should I do ?

edit: I suppose I have to point everything to the same data source like this

In my cacti test environment, it's working without doing it, I really don't understand what's going on.

Not quite.

Each one of the 'Line 1' items (and then the associated 'GPRINT' item) must point to a different data source.

And it may be that this template does not have a logical pairing for the data source and graph element.

You may have to leave the template as is, and edit the graph itself, pointing each item it the graph itself to the right data source. (via 'Graph Management')

Go to graph management, find that specific graph, and post a screenshot.

Change the Selected Graph Template to 'None', save it, then post screenshot again.
