Win2k-Apache setup

Post by murrayf »

I have Win2k Adv Svr
Apache 2.0.39
MySQL 3.23.51
PHP 4.2.1
rrdtool 1.0.35
cacti 0.6.8

I can get apache up and running fine but when I make the edits to the httpd.conf file that are explained the in Cacti Installation for Windows
such as

LoadModule php4_module c:/php/sapi/php4apache2.dll

I get a 'failed start error' when I try to restart Apache.
In DOS I receive the following message

apache -k start
Cannot load c:/php/sapi/php4apache.dll into server The specified module could not be found.

I've changed the / to \ without any success. I've copy the file to 'c:\apapche2\modules' directory and edited the command to:

LoadModule php4_module modules/php4apache2.dll
I get the same error with the new path....

Any help with this is greatly appreciated and I hope that I was not to verbose in my problem explanation.

You also have to copy the php4ts.dll from php to your windows\system32 directory.

Well, another issue could be the incompatibility of apache 2.0.39 with the dll module provided with php 4.2.1.

I have had this problem and finally solve it with taking the dll from a php snapshot (http://snaps.php.net/)

Have a try.
