no graph data

using cacti 0.8.7e-2 on Ubuntu 10.4 server. i configured Cacti to the best of my knowledge and ability and the graphs are there, but empty. no data is being collected, not even for the default localhost.
what do i need to double check ?

Ck. Permissions on ./rra and ./log and they work for your cactiuser.
Then examine your log files... httpd logs too!

deprecated alerts are due to php 5.3. they're ignorable.

as for why no graphs, follow http://docs.cacti.net/manual:087:4_help ... #debugging

087g beta1 should suppress them, if you're concerned about that
