Hi,
I upgraded Cacti v0.8.7e recently, and since then my weathermaps (v0.97a) won't update the % link utilization randomly (some will show the actual usage, some will show 0.00%, then change at the next polling cycle).
The graphs looks ok, and no major errors are seen in the logs.
I went through the install guide many times, no luck. any idea what I should look at?
thanks in advance,
Alex

What targets are you using (dsstats, rrd, rrd+poller_output)?
What messages are there for WEATHERMAP in the log?
The graphs don't show 0 for these times, I assume?

Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)

thanks howie for the reply.Howie wrote:What targets are you using (dsstats, rrd, rrd+poller_output)?

The targets are using rrd, something like <path to cacti>/rra/host_name_traffic_in_####.rrd

And yes, the graphs are actually showing traffic (not 0).
The only change that was done, was to upgrade to 0.8.7e.

OK - then you'll need to run a poller cycle with DEBUG logging (in the Cacti settings).
You'll get a LOT more information, but you are looking for the lines mentioning ReadData. You should see what is being fetched from the rrd file, and which values are chosen from that.
Catching one of the random zeros could be fun though.
