I am having problems with some of the data queries...

For example, when I run the F5 BigIP - TMM CPU Statistics query in debug mode I get the following, with no entries returned.

I am running Cacti/Spine 0.8.7d

Any ideas?

I am having this issue now also. We had to rebuild Cacti and now its not working. This used to work before we changed Cacti. No clue what needs to be done here, can't not find anywhere that would disable these SNMP strings on the BigIP. Its not cacti specific as they fail an snmpwalk and they used to return values. I had to reboot the box to get SNMP values back, I need to open a case on it.

Are the connection duration graphs working for others? I can't get them to work properly in setup.

I was wondering what purpose the V rules in most of these graphs serve? All it looks to be doing is to sit in the middle of most of the graphs. I'm thinking of removing it from the graph templates if it serves no purpose.

I'm having trouble creating some of these graphs.

The only graphs that work correctly and graph correctly are the ones that refer to a data template with an OID. The other graphs will not graph. Their data input method is currently set to Get SNMP Data (Indexed), however, the graphs do not display.

I have turned on graph debugging, and it says the image file is not found.

The associated data queries DO work, and return values if I do a regular query, as well as a verbose query.

Does anyone know how these other graphs are being generated if they do not contain an oid with mibs - such as Chassis Fan and Temperature?

I had a similar issue, it was due to the index data queries returning values starting with dots instead of numbers. I've fixed it by doing the following replacement in the files f5_bigip_ifStat.xml and f5_BigIP-sysTmmStat.xml:
- <oid_index_parse>OID/REGEXP:^.{33}(.*)</oid_index_parse>
+ <oid_index_parse>OID/REGEXP:^.{34}(.*)</oid_index_parse>

(I saw later on that the issue has been discussed earlier in this forum)

Hi,

I've created a new F5 BIG-IP template using the "F5_BigIP_v9-Host_Template-rev_7.zip" (thanks to Terje Gravvold, citizen_elah, BSOD2600 and matibut14) and other stuff I found on the Internet. I've also added many graphs and data queries (MultiHost CPU Statistics, Pool Statistics and Pool Member Statistics).

Please let me know if you experience any issues since I did not have the environment to test it properly.

It seems that index parsing is not working properly, as it includes two 2 "dots" in the OID so it is something unuseful for the snmp query.

I've never program PHP so I'm not an expert to know how ereg PHP parsing function works.

The device is running BIG-IP 9.4.3 Build 11.0 which is not exactly the same version tested for this las version of the template, but I don't think this should be the issue.

I don't try to print graphs for the other data queries that uses OID REGEX parsing, but I suppose it will have the same issue.

Any help for this kind of parsing?

Below the specific parsing code in each xml file of the template:

Try changin the OID regex from 32 to 33. I think others have done the same with success. There is some posts about it in this thread.

Please, keep them in mind as last version uploaded has several problems. I only found issues in xml file for MultiHostCPU: Below diff output of both original and final version.

It seems the snmpwalk output of the verbose query is different on your system than mine (maybe it is not the same snmp versions ?).

Mine includes the "." as first character and yours does not. This would explain the positioning problem that you fixed using {33} instead of {32}.

I've modified the oid_index_parse values to have it compatible on both systems (http://docs.cacti.net/usertemplate:host:f5:bigip). Here is the fix I've did:

Trying to install this template on a fresh install of 0.8.7e

- Installed Cacti 0.8.7e
- Installed Spine 0.8.7e
- Installed PIA 0.8.7e 2.6
- Patched Cacti
- Patched Spine
- Installed plugins - settings, thold, monitor, realtime, docs

So now I'm trying to import the F5 template.

Uploaded the resource\snmp_query\ xml files to the cacti server's resource\snmp_query directory

When I try to import do "import template" for the "cacti_host_template__f5_big-ip.xml" - the browser spins for a moment, then gives me a blank page.

The template is not successfully imported, and I can't figure out why not. If I try to re-import the "cisco router" host template, that works just fine. So at least the basics are working - but no idea why the F5 doesn't work for me, no errors reported, just a blank page.
