Unable to edit device_type
Attaching screeshot of device config , here even if I set set scan type as switch/hub it doesn't save in database , manually setting device_type_id in mac_track_devices table also doesn't change the scan type. I have set snmp timeout as 1000ms , still no change. I also run database_upgrade.php many times !!

Unable to edit device_type
To be more specific on this issue macktrack_scanner.php takes value from 1st row only from the table "mac_track_device_types" for any device , irespective of whatever value you configure for "device_type_id" column in table "mac_track_devices"
If you change the scannig function of 1st device , same will be used for all other devices.
Any clues with above info ??
[root@cacti mactrack]# php mactrack_scanner.php -id=3 -d
DEBUG: HOST: 10.2.125.10 is alive, processing has begun.
DEBUG: Scanning function is 'get_IOS_dot1dTpFdbEntry_ports'
DEBUG: There are -3 VLANS.
Thanks & regards,
Prasad.

[Solved] Unable to edit device_type
I apologize for not understanding the "Device Scanning Function Options" in "Mactrack device Type" correctly.
The problem got resolved after filling up "Vendor snmp Object ID Match" value correctly for each device type. I mistakenly thought that it is optional field to fill up since the word "to help Macktrack" is used here.
Sorry for all confusion ,
Thanks everybody for giving suggestions to resolve the issue.
Regards,
Prasad.

Please check this out first :
http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?f ... 47#p215547
If that doesn't work run a php /var/www/cacti/plugins/mactrack/mactrack_scanner.php -id="113" -d (change 113 for your device ID)
and post the output.

I should write documentation one day. But if you read my tag line.... It's a challenge. Once you've got it, and have it working, you've paid the entry fee and can then sail away to increased visibility and all the benefits of it.
