NPC: cannot import hosts

Hi,

We have a very clean install of nagios, with cacti and npc on top of CentOS 5.4.
Nagios and cacti default from the default CentOS repo.

The configuration of NPC/ndo works fine, so all the data is stored in the npc_ tables.

The only problem is...
When i select import hosts (groups) from the npc interface, after i selected the template, they do not appear in the cacti interface (devices). I do not see any error-messages, nor do i see anything wrong in the (debug) logs.

When i manually try to import the host, i see the message;
/usr/share/cacti/cli/add_device.php --description=testmachine --ip=192.168.1.1 --template=11
ERROR: Invalid snmp version (0)

Do i need to install snmp at all the hosts? I only need this for the mysql-cacti-templates, so i will not use snmp. Is this a requirement?
