graph traffic limit on server no 64bit counter

Post by cabsalon »

Hello
i have the issue of graph trafic limit for my servers.
my servers have at least 1gb network card.
and all my static graph limit at 120M, i have not this issue if i look my graph in realtime.
i read on a lot of post a solution about 64 bits, but it's not working for me , i have deleted and recreate graph with snmp V1 and V2.
after some search i can see that there is no sound if i do snmpwalk on this mib >.1.3.6.1.2.1.31.
please can someone help me to monitor my servers
cacti is on W2K8 version 8.7.e from all in one package
clients server ==>W2K3
Thanks

Windows does not have 64bit interface counters, even still. You'll have to monitor the at the switch/router level.

Hi BSOD2600
i am still on my issue with counter, because 40% of my server are on remote sites with non manageable switch,
i try to find a solution since one week (forum + buy book + etc...) but with no success.
i have understand that it's a question of schedule task frequency link with the amount of data transfer.
Me i can't reduce my schedule task to one minute.
Do you know if there is another template for monitoring the traffic on GB?
Another question, in the past i used nagios+ centreon, and i didn't have this issue with 5 min frequency, fo you know why?

Yes, you can change the polling interval to 1 minute... but it's not an easy task. That will most likely solve the counter wrapping issue. Big long ugly thread about it here http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?t=23885

I've never used nagios, etc so not sure how they function.
