Import devices not working

Post by waterboy »

I would like to be able to import my devices into MacTrack using a csv file as I have around 500 switches that I'd like to poll. My thought was to enter a few devices in via the web interface, then "Export" them from the Devices page, edit the file, and import the file back in.
I've tried that but am getting an error saying:

HEADER LINE PROCESSING ERROR: Missing required field

Seems strange since I've filled in the same fields that had data from when I exported the file. Any ideas?

Also, not sure if this is a bug or not, but the exported CSV is showing the "IgnorePorts" in the "scan_type" column.

Also, if someone knows of a faster way to get 500 switches into MacTrack, I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks!

i'm guessing all those devices aren't added into cacti already, since it has the action to just straight import into mactrack?

And note i had the same issue with exporting and then reimporting, gave me the same field missing, with the most recent svn before 2.5

If this persists please open a bug report at http://bugs.cacti.net and post again here the bug number and link.

Ok, will do.

And you're correct, all of the devices I'm looking to add are NOT already in Cacti, but thanks for pointing out that capability as I didn't realize it existed.
