You actually asked this question about two weeks ago? Why do you need a new thread?

I asked about updating, but as I've seen now, there are several patches to apply to the newest version 0.8.7e, and the only instructions to apply these patches are under *nix operating systems.

I'd like to know how to make the patching under Windows.

Nevertheless should I've made any mistake, I apologize.

I read your post in the other thread.

You were recommended to use http://www.cacti.net/downloads/docs/html/upgrade.html

Like you said this is *nix - But be honest, this is just copying some files somewhere else.
Just try it, and if you are successful write a nice guide for updating under windows. If something bad happens you can still ask.

If I see this as too simple, I apologize.

I guess there is a missunderstanding here.

I understood the *nix instructions to upgrade Cacti's version. I haven't done it yet, but I'm planning on doing it during the week.

However, I've also seen this http://www.cacti.net/download_patches.php were it is recommended to apply these patches once upgraded to version 0.8.7e because those are patches that solve bugs in the version.

The instructions I'd like to know how to apply under Windows are the following:

patch -p1 -N < cli_add_graph.patch
patch -p1 -N < snmp_invalid_response.patch
patch -p1 -N < template_duplication.patch
patch -p1 -N < fix_icmp_on_windows_iis_servers.patch
patch -p1 -N < cross_site_fix.patch
patch -p1 -N < sql_injection_template_export.patch

Because wget is only to download the files and I can do it manually, but I don't know how to do the patch instruction.

I just want to have everything clear before upgrading and updating the patches.

I apologize if my first explanation led to a missunderstanding.

Thank you.

Thanks Sirup and sorry for the inconveniences. It seems that the command works under CMD.

I'll search for the pre-patched files and see if I get it to work.

Thanks again for your help.
