Horrible bug while using weathermap editor

Post by flush80 »

I am using Internet Explorer, and this bug is really annoying me.

When i make a new node -- it just makes its own links, and then when i delete this original problem -- it just deletes other things which were nowhere in the vicinity

has anyone else experienced this -- it makes completely no sense whatsoever

ill details later but i just wanted to get an idea if anyone else has witnessed this crazyness.

Do you have spaces in node names?

The editor allows these, and it shouldn't, so if you have two nodes called 'Router One' and 'Router Two' for example, strange things will happen.
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)

Hi Howie,

Yes that makes sense, i did have spaces, i have tried now without space and everything okay.

I think they should add a validation on the node boxes to make sure you dont put spaces -- it completely messed up my network map.

many thanks for help.

It's in the manual. You would have been getting errors in the log for those nodes. I'll probably change the editor to refuse it in the future.
