It's in the pipeline. Pipeline is clogged with Day job. Trust me, I know.

Uhmmm, i can be interested on that. What do you mean with "It's in the pipeline"? I saw threshold messages in the syslog server messages. The point is how to launch the external script when matched.

In other words, it has already been written, just not QA'd (aka completed).

This would be great

We are also looking for something similar. Is there any pre release code that we could check out here that supports this feature?

Thanks,

Another way to do this is to use Procmail, or a similar mail filter, and use it to trigger command line events. I used to do that with the IMail server by IPswitch on Windows servers, and Procmail has the *nix world covered in this respect.

Basically use an account that is on the same server as Cacti, and use a filter to trigger based on specific emails. The filter can also forward all or selected emails, so you still get your notifications elsewhere.

I've been fooling with it and I'm having some issues with it particulary related to creating and saving a template. It allows you to select script, or snmp write alerting, but can't save it.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks.

Has sending threshold alerts via external script or SNMP been rolled into the current deployment or do we still need to load the branch indicated below?

Thanks!

Scott
